My Investments!

Hello Readers! The spreadsheet embedded below contains a real-time view of all of my holdings. Before you look, please note the following:

  • I’m an indexer (mostly)! Not all of my holdings reflect my current investment philosophy. Before I knew better, I was a stock picker. Prior to starting this blog, I didn’t even know what an index fund was! While I’ve done well as a stock picker, I feel better with an extremely long-term investment philosophy and I think the only way to do this is with index funds. With that said, I love Tesla and will hold it for a long, long time.
  • I also like real estate! Mrs. 1500 and I flip homes, own a trailer park with partners, own a coworking space with friends, invest in syndication deals, and issue private loans. Real estate takes work, but we enjoy it!
  • This is NOT investment advice (aka don’t sue me)! Investing is deeply personal. I have a very high level of risk tolerance and enjoy owning some high-flying tech stocks. This page exists because I thought it would be fun to share my journey to FIRE with you and I believe in transparency. When someone asks me for advice, I give them a copy of The Simple Path to Wealth.

Be patient, the Google Sheet below takes a moment to load.

Freedom!

My goal was to build a portfolio of $1,000,000 by February of 2017; 1500 days from the birth of this blog (January 1, 2013). And hey look, I’ve since retired!

7/1: $5,904,562
8/1: $6,311,598
9/1: $6,469,507
10/1: $6,842,903
11/1: $7,015,680

Gains (since 1/1/2025): $954,886

Overall
Gains since 1/1/2013: $6,429,637
Net worth***: $7,415,680

* The big jump between 2019 and 2020 was partly because we bought another home, but kept the previous (much more expensive) one as a rental and started counting it as an investment. We have since sold it.

** Tesla.

*** Includes our primary home equity in addition to our investment portfolio.

Finally, we still have about $290,000 in mortgage debt (which I love!). No regrets about the debts!
