Just a quick note today about some appearances around the internet!
I’m on The Struggle Is Real podcast this week. I talk about frugality, spending experiments (including the joy of failure), and one cool thing I’ve learned about deploying money for fun (SPOILER ALERT: It’s about the people.) Check it out where finer podcasts are distributed or here on YouTube:
Also note that the short-lived Mindy On Money show is back. Sort of. We’re on BiggerPockets now under a new name: Living A FI Life. But the content is the same. It’s Mindy (and Carl).
For now, we’re only on YouTube. Check out the playlist here.
More 1500 Days!!!
You can also find me (and the dinosaurs) at:
- YouTube: My channel is mostly devoted to home improvement, but I have some other material coming up soon too.
- Instagram: Pretty pictures of dinosaurs, sunsets, and nail guns!
- Twitter: Spontaneous, often insane, ramblings
- Coworking space: On the surface, MMM HQ is a coworking space. Look a little deeper and you’ll see that we’re really building community. The members of MMM HQ are some of the finest people I know
- Buying a Tesla? Use my referral code to get some perks!

I have really enjoyed your blog, but as a proud Canadian, it’s time for me to unsubscribe. The glorification of your technocratic government is just too much. Thanks for all you’ve shared and all the best!
Glorification of a technocratic government? I’m not sure where you got that from. I am a fan of efforts to automate driving because it would reduce traffic deaths. Humans are great drivers when they’re paying attention. But many of them aren’t. My grandmother died in a horribly violent accident which was human caused. Autonomous cars will eliminate most of this.
Worldwide, studies consistently show that human error is the leading cause of car crashes. In the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that human error is a factor in a staggering 94% of all crashes.
And as I’ve stated in another comment, I don’t care who solves it. I just hope someone does soon.
Good health and prosperity to you as well.
@Jane, did you have a problem when Carl talked about Tesla under the previous admin? Carl’s stances on the issues of autonomous driving have not wavered no matter who is in the white house…and honestly, that is how innovation happens. When two groups can come together over a shared goal, progress happens. That is part of what we’ve lost in this country, and hopefully, it will return.
Cheesy: I’ll do my part:)
Thanks Clinton!
I REALLY try to avoid talking about anything related to politics. It’s bad enough in real life, but 10x worse on the internet where nuance is lost and folks feel emboldened to unleash massive shitballs.
I’m still not sure where she’s coming from with this comment: “The glorification of your technocratic government is just too much.” To appreciate one aspect of Elon’s company surely is not an endorsement of anything else.
Thanks for the updates… It is really interesting to hear how things are going for you – especially right now with all the chaos right now. We are in a similar spot as we are FI and my husband is semi-working for fun but I am not.
I love the Mindy on Money podcast too and hope that I can listen again at some point. I do not have that much time to watch YouTube and it is easier for me to listen when I am doing other things.
Cheers!
Alice! Thanks for the kind comments! Mindy On Money is coming back soon. Big changes coming.

Haha! My portfolio has not been happy! Not at all. It’s OK. This too shall pass.
@jane I politely disagree. I have been following Carl’s work for 5 years now. Carl never commented on politics. He has genuine love for technology. I have met Carl IRL few times and he is down to earth and soft spoken. He treats everyone with respect. Accusing him on glorifying someone may satisfy your emotions for a moment but can hurt others too.
