Doug and I recently took a trip to see MMM’s Arizona Experiment in person. At Culdesac, we were joined by friends including Chad Carson, Paula Pant, Brad Barrett, David Baughier, and JD Roth.
We toured Culdesac:
Saw the town on ebikes:
Explored the desert:
Shared an epic night with friends:
And sat down with Culdesac founder, Ryan Johnson for an interview:

Heard about CulDeSac a few years ago and was excited to see Pete saying he was moving down there, such a great idea! I wish more cities had this. Transit Oriented Development is a triple win. I like how they give residents free transit passes and use of bikes. I think the light rail is expanding as well, so that will help getting around in the hot summer. Sounds like a nice trip, Carl!
Yeah now you need to live in Colorado to be part of the FIRE movement…man!!
What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall for all of those conversations. Literally all of the people I listen to on a weekly basis in one room = dream come true.
I’m so thankful to call all of these folks my friends.
You don’t need to be a fly on the wall either. Come to Longmont and you can be a person in the room!
