Resolution Dilution?

March 1, 2019 by Mr. 1500 Days 15 Comments

I came up with 15 resolutions and to keep myself honest, today I post an update.Resolution Dilution? It's human nature to lose enthusiasm for goals after the initial excitement wears off. Strength Training Update #2: Puketastic Workouts!

May 4, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 7 Comments

I like to set fitness goals for myself. In the first quarter, my goal was to run a half marathon which I did on March 31st.Now it’s time for a new goal and in the second quarter, I’m focusing on strength training. I’ll see how much I can increase my push-up and pull-up maximum repititions before the end of the quarter. I'm also keeping track of body composition. This is … [Read more...] about Strength Training Update #2: Puketastic Workouts!

What I Learned Running A Half Marathon

April 2, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 84 Comments

Some years ago, I hiked Mt. Whitney in California. This 14er is a strenuous grind. The trail starts at 8,360' and the summit is at 14,505' (6,145' of elevation gain!). The round-trip is 22 miles. My friend and I started at 4:30am, summited at noon and were done by 4pm. It wasn't easy, but we were happy with our performance especially since neither of us trained for … [Read more...] about What I Learned Running A Half Marathon

Half Marathon Training Update #5: Fart? Wasn’t Me. Really!

February 9, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 24 Comments

I learned a fun new word this week: Fart. I know what you're thinking: Dude, that word is the core of your humor. What are you talking about? True. Farts are the source of my sophisticated (for a 7th grader) wisecracks. But I'm not talking about those. I'm referring to the Swedish definition: Fart: speed. That's correct ladies and gentlemen, Fart == speed in the Swedish … [Read more...] about Half Marathon Training Update #5: Fart? Wasn’t Me. Really!

January 26, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 33 Comments

The Beer Ratio The Physician on FIRE is getting in on the running game: My wife has been tracking her miles run since 2008. She stays in great shape. I’ve been tracking my miles run for 12 days. I’m not yet in great shape, but I’m working on it, slowly but surely. And one of PoF's goals is this:Run at least one mile per alcoholic drink consumed (defined as 12 oz. of 5% … [Read more...] about Half Marathon Training Update #3: The Beer Ratio

* The big jump between 2019 and 2020 was partly because we bought another home, but kept the previous (much more expensive) one as a rental. We have since sold it.

** Tesla.

*** Includes our primary home equity in addition to our investment portfolio.

Finally, we still have about $290,000 in mortgage debt (which I love!). No regrets about the debts!
