What I Learned Running A Half Marathon

April 2, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 84 Comments

Some years ago, I hiked Mt. Whitney in California. This 14er is a strenuous grind. The trail starts at 8,360' and the summit is at 14,505' (6,145' of elevation gain!). The round-trip is 22 miles. My friend and I started at 4:30am, summited at noon and were done by 4pm. It wasn't easy, but we were happy with our performance especially since neither of us trained for … [Read more...] about What I Learned Running A Half Marathon

Half Marathon Training Update #5: Fart? Wasn’t Me. Really!

February 9, 2018 by Mr. 1500 Days 24 Comments

I learned a fun new word this week: Fart. I know what you're thinking: Dude, that word is the core of your humor. What are you talking about? True. Farts are the source of my sophisticated (for a 7th grader) wisecracks. But I'm not talking about those. I'm referring to the Swedish definition: Fart: speed. That's correct ladies and gentlemen, Fart == speed in the Swedish … [Read more...] about Half Marathon Training Update #5: Fart? Wasn’t Me. Really!
